We had a lovely weekend — complete with family, food, football and fall. October really is the best. We’ve been out and about all weekend, but on Thursday and Friday I did make two recipes worth sharing.
Thursday night was breakfast for dinner, and I tried a new baked, stuffed French toast recipe. It was simple, scrumptious and cheap. I’ll definitely be making it again.
Friday night I decided to make these homemade Butterfingers. They contain only three ingredients: candy corn, peanut butter and chocolate coating. Fabulous!
Basically, you just mix the peanut butter and melted candy corn (which isn’t very easy at all). Then spread it out and chill like so:
(Candyman Kelby had to sample a corner, just to make sure it was a-okay.)
Once completely cooled, melt and mix your chocolate.
Chunk the PB + candy corn mixture into squares and dunk away! (I should’ve coated these all the way around, but it was past my bedtime, so I just dipped.)
Ugly, yes. Tasty, also yes. They really do taste like a butterfinger! Unfortunately, my pregnancy heartburn has been acting up, so I haven’t tried more than a nibble. I’m just trusting my husband’s tastebuds on these. (And if anyone knows sweets, it’s him!)
