I’m baaaack.
To work, that is. Being Annistyn’s mommy is my absolute favorite job in the world.
(Umm… how could it not be?!)
But now that maternity leave is over, I must return to real life.
As if adjusting to working motherhood isn’t enough, I decided to shake things up even more and start a new job.
If there’s ever been a time when I felt like I had limited time, it’s now. We’re only two days in, but boy do the nights disappear when there’s a meal to cook and clean up, a babe to cuddle, feed, bathe and kiss goodnight, a husband with which to share life… oh, and an alarm set for 5:30 a.m.
Needless to say, my free time spent online, reading, writing, or simply relaxing over a glass of wine has dwindled immensely. But I’m okay with that. Better than okay, actually! I can already tell it’s going to be tough but incredibly rewarding to balance career and family.
This new lifestyle is a perfect reminder that we’re all operating on limited time, yet He’s given us all the time we need. Use it carefully. And most of all, remember: life is not an emergency.
I’m choosing to savor the moments.
Beautiful! My favorite part “This new lifestyle is a perfect reminder that we’re all operating on limited time, yet He’s given us all the time we need. Use it carefully. And most of all, remember: life is not an emergency.” is a perfect lesson for all of us.
If anyone can balance career and family, it is you!
You are amazing. Enough said.
Isn’t it wonderful being a mom? I enjoyed that time five times–however I was semi-retired from teaching for 41 years. My husband had to work so I kept the home front going. ha I know that you two wonderful parents will give your best to my dear great granddaughter, Annistyn. Do keep writing, too, Angie. Lots of love, Grandma Donna
