I had grand plans for my four-day weekend. You know, they don’t come around all that often. My original list included tasks like “clean the oven” and “organize the filing cabinet.”
Fun spring break?
I trashed the list and made a new one: my favorite things.
We need room to play. Room to simply be, instead of the usual do, do, do.
I (still) organized, because clutter-free living makes my heart happy. I baked, because sharing sweets warms my soul. I cuddled, because mothering is the best job in all this world. I dined-and-movie’d with my love, because he’s my favorite. I sipped fancy espresso in the morning and sweet wine in the evening, because life is short. I got lost in new pages and fresh harmonies, because inspiration is everywhere. I designed a room, made plans and strung some words, because creating never ceases.
Is my house perfect and my to-do list complete? Gosh no. Will it ever be? Nope.
And that’s okay. Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful.
After all, four-day weekends are a rare treasure.
More of our recent adventures can be discovered on my Instagram feed. Lately, I tend to capture life’s moments here.
Seems like a great weekend to me!!
