Ashes, ashes, we fall down.

Like many of you, I’m feeling a tad exhausted tonight.

My head has been pounding and my inbox has been flooding all day long. What I really want right now is to curl up with the amazing book I’m currently reading (Her Daughter’s Dream by Francine Rivers) and read until my eyelids feel heavier than an elephant (like they don’t already?).

Instead, I broke my personal work-life balance rule and toted my laptop home this evening in an effort to regain control (or the illusion of it).

Anyway, the book-in-bed plan isn’t on the docket for tonight. Instead, I’ll settle with listening to some sweet JJ Heller tunes from her newest CD: When I’m With You. One song in particular, “Kingdom Come,” reminds me of the eternal peace and rest I’ll experience someday, which in turn fuels me to work through my headache (both the physical one and the inbox one).

Since the song is too new for a YouTube video, here are the refreshing lyrics:

Kingdom Come

By JJ and Dave Heller

Ashes, ashes, we fall down
It always feels too soon
But when we walk on golden ground
All will be made new

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
all will be made new

Life is but a dream at best
Morning’s coming soon
Kingdom come will bring us rest
All will be made new

All sorrows and sighs
Will fade away into the night
And all will be made new

Q. What little things are keeping you going today?
